The LANAP Laser procedure is the first and only FDA cleared laser procedure for the treatment of moderate to severe gum disease. Gum disease is an infection in your mouth that can cause serious systemic health issues, such as stroke, pregnancy complications, and heart disease. In the past, many patients were afraid to have their gum disease treated because the traditional osseous surgery required the cutting and sewing of the gums. With the LANAP laser, there is no need for cutting. Instead, LANAP utilizes laser technology to gently remove the harmful bacteria that cause gum disease without harming the healthy tissue.
